Depressing Rainy Weather, But A Good Glass Day!
Today we are happy to report that in spite of the lousy wet weather, courtesy of tropical storm
Nicole, we had a very good day. We hired a very talented commercial storefront and glass stair specialist that
we have had our eyes on for awhile. He starts tomorrow and we are very excited. The timing is great.
We installed a large beveled mirror for California artist Kathryn Andrews at the Rubell Family Collection (www.rfc.museum ). The mirror is part of a larger installation created by the artist, to be displayed beginning
December 1 and coinciding with Art Basel Miami Beach. We are looking forward to attending.
South Florida Feng
Shui designer Elyse Santoro (www.elysesantoro.com) commissioned the installation of beautiful American-made antiqued mirror squares from Omega Products (www.antiquedecormirrors.com) of Louisville, KY. We love the vibrant colors and patterns and look forward to using them in more
projects. There are 9 patterns available in both 1/8" and 1/4" thicknesses. Gold vein overlay is also
available in each pattern. Stop by our showroom to see samples. And by the way, Omega Products also does
mirror resilvering, something not easy to find these days.
Our in-house glass cutter had plenty of work today, hand-cutting
and polishing over 40 pieces of mirror to be installed on a custom king-sized bed. It's the birthday present
from one of our best customers to her daughter. We're certain there won't be another bed like it in the world!
We started
and finished the installation of a patch system glass storefront in Boca Raton. The job came out beautifully and
was all the more impressive, considering our installers had never measured or even seen where they were going to install.
For once, nearly everything went right and the few glitches encountered were easily solved. If only every installation
went this well! Bravo Rolando and Rolando!
On the repair side, we replaced an interior glass office
partition and a small sidelite without incident. Fortunately, the rain let up at key moments and we were able to carry
the glass with no trouble.
All in all, it was a good day. We hope tomorrow will be as good!
